Yi Pei Square Playground to reopen after refurbishment
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced today (April 13) that refurbishment works for Yi Pei Square Playground in Tsuen Wan District have been completed. The facilities will reopen at noon on April 15 (Thursday) for public use.
"Communal living room" is the design theme of the renovated Yi Pei Square Playground. With the additions and improvement on inclusive play equipment for children, an elderly fitness corner, distinctive pergolas and benches as well as landscape designs, the playground will become an extension of "living rooms" of the adjacent residences, allowing neighbours to gather and to strengthen the community connection. The refurbishment works were carried out by the LCSD, in collaboration with the Architectural Services Department, the Policy Innovation and Co-ordination Office and Design Trust, and are funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.
The LCSD will also carry out refurbishment works at Sitting-out Area under Flyover in Hill Road of the Central and Western District, Portland Street Rest Garden and Hamilton Street Rest Garden in Yau Tsim Mong District progressively, aiming to bring innovative designs and arts elements to small outdoor leisure venues with high visitor flows, and to improve these older public spaces.
