Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency staff member tests preliminarily positive for COVID-19
The Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency (WFSFAA) said today (February 21) that a clerical staff member of the Student Finance Office (SFO) has tested preliminarily positive for COVID-19.
The staff member works on the 12th floor of One Mong Kok Road Commercial Centre. She had no contact with the public in her daily work and last went to work on February 17. She had been wearing a mask at work and followed relevant disease prevention measures.
The WFSFAA will arrange thorough cleaning and disinfection for the office premises concerned. All staff working on the same floor will undergo COVID-19 testing and will work from home while waiting for the results. The SFO will maintain close liaison with the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health in taking appropriate follow-up action. The hotline service for Tertiary Student Finance Scheme – Publicly-funded Programmes and Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students (2152 9000) and the enquiry service counter on the same floor will be suspended tomorrow (February 22) and on February 23. During the service suspension, members of the public may send their enquiries by email to wg_sfo@wfsfaa.gov.hk.
The WFSFAA will continue to strictly implement various disease prevention measures. Staff members are reminded to pay attention to personal hygiene and stay vigilant at all times. They should seek medical advice immediately and inform the SFO if they feel unwell.
