User registration for new intelligent sports and recreation services booking and information system opens today

The new intelligent sports and recreation services booking and information system of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), SmartPLAY, is open for user registration starting from today (July 3). All people, including existing Leisure Link patrons, must register and complete an identity authentication process beforehand in order to use the new system.

SmartPLAY, which will be implemented by phases, is open for user registration starting from today. The new system will be launched on or before October to replace the existing Leisure Link.

A dedicated website and a mobile app (My SmartPLAY) will be provided for user registration. If users complete their registration through "iAM Smart", they can complete the identity authentication and instant activation of their SmartPLAY account in one go. Moreover, they can utilise 375 new smart self-service stations at around 240 (including District Leisure Service Offices ((DLSOs)) in various districts) leisure venues under the management of the LCSD. Other than performing their registration, users can also complete identity authentication and account activation procedures at smart self-service stations simultaneously.

If users have yet to register with "iAM Smart", they can fill in basic account information through the My SmartPLAY app or SmartPLAY website, and then upload a copy of their Hong Kong identity card (HKID). After verification, users are requested to perform identity authentication with the original copy of their HKID through smart self-service stations at DLSOs/leisure venues or on self-check-in devices at leisure venues in various districts, whereupon their SmartPLAY account can be activated.

Non-HKID card holders aged below 11 are required to upload their identity documents when making registrations online. For example, holders of a Hong Kong birth certificate can perform their identity authentication in person with the relevant original documents at leisure venues of various districts with booking counters. Moreover, children holding a Document of Identity for Visa Purpose, HKSAR Re-entry Permit or Permit for Proceeding to Hong Kong and Macao (commonly known as a One-way Permit) can bring the relevant original documents to the SmartPLAY Services Centre (Address: Floor 5M, Kwun Chung Municipal Services Building, 17 Bowring Street, Jordan, Kowloon) for identity authentication in person and completion of user registration. For details, please refer to the annex. The LCSD also accepts registrations of visitors permitted to stay in Hong Kong as temporary users of SmartPLAY, and is planning to open registration for them after the launch of the new system.
