University Grants Committee launches Hong Kong Research Portal website
The following is issued on behalf of the University Grants Committee:
The University Grants Committee (UGC) announced today (March 10) that the UGC had recently launched the Hong Kong Research Portal (the Portal), providing a common platform for researchers and the public to access detailed information on Hong Kong's research field. The Portal is one of the initiatives implemented by the UGC to follow up on the "Review Report of the Task Force on Review of Research Policy and Funding".
The Portal provides one-stop information, including the Government's strategies and initiatives for promoting research, various publicly funded research schemes, suggestions for research grants applications, career development opportunities for researchers as well as sharing on research cases to enhance public understanding of the achievements and contributions of the local research community.
The Government devotes substantial resources to support local research development and funds research projects through different departments and organisations, including the Education Bureau, the Food and Health Bureau, the Environmental Protection Department, the Innovation and Technology Commission, the Policy Innovation and Co-ordination Office, the UGC and the Research Grants Council. Apart from details of the above-mentioned research funding schemes, the Portal also provides information on talent training programmes and recruitment from different organisations for those who aspire to pursue careers in the field of research.
