Tung Chung Swimming Pool temporarily closed

     Here is an item of interest to swimmers.

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (May 31) that due to an insufficient number of lifeguards on duty, Tung Chung Swimming Pool in Islands District has been temporarily closed until further notice to ensure the safety of swimmers.

Invitation of tenders for tenancy at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port

     The Government Property Agency is inviting two separate tenders for (i) Shop No. 307 on the Ground Floor; and (ii) Shop No. 501 on the First Floor, Passenger Clearance Building, 33 Shun Fai Road, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port, Lantau, Hong Kong, each for a three-year tenancy subject to the provision for renewal for a further term of two years.

     The two premises should only be used for general retail and/or services purposes. Details can be referred to the respective Tender Notice and Form of Tenancy Agreement.

     The tender notices were uploaded today (April 17) to the Agency's website: www.gpa.gov.hk. Tender documents are available for collection at the Government Property Agency, 9/F, South Tower, West Kowloon Government Offices, 11 Hoi Ting Road, Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon, during the period from 9am to 6pm from Monday to Friday, except public holidays. The documents can also be downloaded from the Agency's website.

     Interested tenderers who wish to conduct a site inspection of the premises should make a prior appointment with the Government Property Agency by calling 3842 6915 on or before April 24.

     Tenderers must submit their tenders by placing them in the Government Logistics Department Tender Box situated on the Ground Floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong, before noon on May 16. Late tenders will not be accepted.

GCC education bureau to partner with Jordanian teaching academy

RIYADH: Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Assimi, director general of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, and Dr. Osama Obeidat, CEO of Jordan’s Queen Rania Teacher Academy, signed an agreement to strengthen partnership through teacher training, exchanging expertise and establishing joint programs for professional development, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday. 

The move is in line with the ABEGS framework on boosting cooperation with specialized organizations and institutions.
