Manston Airport plans prove that UKIP lives up to its promises

A £100 million investment plan to revive aviation at Manston Airport in Kent would not have been possible without the tireless campaigning of UKIP Councillors, according to the party’s transport spokesman Jill Seymour.

An American logistics company has today unveiled plans to acquire the 750-acre site, and use it as a base for at least a dozen aircraft.

Representatives for the un-named investment company are due to discuss the prospects of Thanet District Council becoming a partner in a compulsory purchase order for the site.

“This is fabulous news. UKIP insisted two years ago that it was the only party which would work to save Manston, and we are delivering on our promises,” said Mrs Seymour.

“News of this potential investment is testimony to the tireless campaigning, lobbying and hard work of the UKIP team on the ground in Thanet under Cllr Chris Wells, the leader of the Council.

UKIP Leader Paul Nuttall has announced that he will be standing in Boston and Skegness in the forthcoming General Election.

Paul said: “It is a great honour and a privilege to stand for UKIP in Boston and Skegness. The constituency voted overwhelmingly for Leave inspired in part by the massive betrayal of our fishing industry by successive Governments, something that today’s Conservative Party led by Theresa May looks set to repeat.

“I will make it my mission to stand up for the people of Boston and Skegness and ensure there is no backsliding on Brexit.”

It’s time for Hungary to join the Brexit Club, Mr Orban!

Speaking today to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in Brussels UKIP’s Nigel Farage called for the Hungarian people to have their own chance to regain their freedom and independence from the EU. He also complemented Orbán’s resistance to different European policies but slammed the outrageous level of interference the institutions are now showing in national politics

Nigel Farage MEP said: “You spoke today, and you behaved today, as the leader of a nation. But isn’t it becoming obvious that as a member of the European Union actually you are not a nation. No, you’re not the leader of a nation and these people will go on interfering in the lives of Hungarian people.

”Surely logic says its time you gave the Hungarian people a referendum on whether they stay part of the European Union or not. Who knows, you might come and join the Brexit club and then we could fight for a group of democratic states working together, trading together and put this nonsense behind us.”

Stop fraud in the Aid budget? Simple, slash that budget and spend the money here

The Public Accounts Committee report on fraud in the International Aid budget was scathing about the dismissive attitude to fraud displayed by both the Foreign and International Development departments which suggested that there was no significant problem with fraud.

Lisa Duffy, UKIP’s Foreign Aid spokesman said, “As the Committee made clear, it isn’t good enough to wave a hand and claim not to be able to divulge who is committing the fraud, it is imperative that people are able to know who is stealing their hard earned taxes.

“That the Committee itself seems to accept that there are both “legal and cultural sensitivities” in divulging the identities of the fraudsters is equally worrying.

“We have our own cultural sensitivity here in the UK, the one in which tax payers money is accounted for and accountable.
