MARGOT Parker MEP has backed this week’s (March 8) International Women’s Day.

The East Midlands MEP, who sits on the FEMM, (Women’s Rights and Gender Equality), committee in the EU Parliament has called for equality and equal chances for women both at home and abroad.

She said: “International Women’s Day again gives us all the chance to celebrate the achievements and steps have made over the years.

European Council wants to have its cake and eat it on Brexit guidelines – UKIP (Batten and Farage)

UKIP Interim leader Gerard Batten MEP said in response to Donald Tusk’s speech today:

“The EU wants to have its cake and to eat it. Their published guidelines today should be unacceptable to the British government and to the 17.4 million people who voted leave. It is clearly not in the national interest to accept a free trade deal which does not involve financial services.”

Thousands of houses and many threats, but doesn’t address the root causes of the problem

The Prime Minister’s speech today on the housing crisis which threatened bot local councils and developers alike will fail to deal with the problem of housing unless the Government she leads gets serious about why we need so many houses in the first place. The hundreds of thousands of migrants who make their way to this country every year who, naturally all need somewhere to live.
