Female Genital Mutilation is an unacceptable and illegal practice. It is a form of violence against women that violates human right and has no place in Scotland – or anywhere else.

Today marks the 100th anniversary of the UK Parliament passing the Representation of the People Act, which first gave women the right to vote.

Tomorrow marks 100 years since Parliament passed a law which allowed women, and all men, to vote for the first time. This anniversary is something we should celebrate but it also gives us the opportunity to look at gender equality more widely.
