Following a direction from the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland Rt Hon Chris Heaton-Harris MP on 20 September 2023, the Department for Infrastructure has launched a consultation today on options for introducing an increase to Private Streets Inspection fees.

The Department for Communities has announced the re-appointment of the Chair, Andrew Haley, and one Member, Roisin Donnelly, to the Ministerial Advisory Group (MAG) for Architecture and the Built Environment NI from 1 December 2023 to 30 November 2027. They have both served on the MAG since 1 June 2019.

Provisional planning statistics for the second quarter of 2023/24 are now available. These data provide an overall view of planning activity. Alongside this there is a summary of council performance across two of the statutory targets, for major development applications and local development applications as laid out in the Local Government (Performance Indicators and Standards) Order (Northern Ireland) 2015, along with other statistics of interest such as application approval rates.
