Typhoon Kompasu roundup
As Typhoon Kompasu is moving away from Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Observatory issued the Strong Wind Signal No. 3 at 4.40pm today (October 13). It replaced the No. 8 Northeast Gale or Storm Signal issued at 5.20pm yesterday (October 12).
The Home Affairs Department has opened 24 temporary shelters in various districts and 255 people have sought refuge.
As at 4pm today, the 1823 Government Call Centre has received 72 reports of fallen trees. The Drainage Services Department has confirmed 10 flooding cases. No report of landslide has been received.
According to the Hospital Authority, as at 4.45pm today, 21 people (10 men and 11 women) have been injured during the typhoon period and received medical treatment at the Accident and Emergency Department of public hospitals. Among them, one man has died.
