The No. 8 Northeast Gale or Storm Signal issued by the Hong Kong Observatory at 11.50pm yesterday (October 8) remains in force.
The Home Affairs Department has so far opened 29 temporary shelters in various districts and 286 people have sought refuge at the shelters.
As at 4.40am today (October 9), the Fire Services Department and the Government's 1823 Call Centre received eight reports and nine reports of fallen trees respectively, while the Civil Engineering and Development Department received one report of landslide. In addition, the Drainage Services Department has received two confirmed flooding cases.
According to the Hospital Authority, as at 4am today, a total of 25 people, including 14 men and 11 women, sought medical treatment at public hospitals during the typhoon period.
