The No. 8 Northeast Gale or Storm Signal issued by the Hong Kong Observatory at 11.50pm yesterday (October 8) remains in force.
The Home Affairs Department has so far opened 29 temporary shelters in various districts and 285 people have sought refuge at the shelters.
As at 2.40am today (October 9), the Fire Services Department and the Government's 1823 Call Centre received eight reports and nine reports of fallen trees respectively, while the Civil Engineering and Development Department received one report of landslide. In addition, no report of flooding has been received so far.
According to the Hospital Authority, as at 2am today, a total of 23 people, including 13 men and 10 women, sought medical treatment at public hospitals during the typhoon period.
