Two generations of local musicians to perform “Tuneful Music of South China”

     As part of the "Regional Music of China Series", a concert, "Tuneful Music of South China", will take place in June.
 
     Two generations of local musicians will perform the song artistry and traditional music of the Lingnan region over different periods. There will also be a guided musical journey to help the audience appreciate the beauty of nanyin and Cantonese instrumental music.
 
     Performing at the concert will be To Wing, Ching May-bo, Chan Pik-sum, Jason Lau, Chass Wong, Yu Wing-ka, Cass Lam, Bryan Lai, Yanki Ma, Kwok Ka-ying, Sou Si-tai, Jessica Fung, Chung Siu-sun, Kwok Shing-cho, Chak Yuet-man, and Li Chun-wai.
 
     To and Ching will sing the nanyin piece, "A Wanderer's Autumn Grief (Part I)", and the yue'ou piece, "My Heart Is So Bitter", respectively. Several Cantonese music classics including "The Toll of the Temple Bell", "The Beauty Yonder", "Autumn Moon over a Placid Lake", "Gui-Zhi-Xiang", "Orioles Singing among the Billowing Willows", "Moonlight over the Spring River", "Bright Is the Moon" and "Stepping High" will also be performed.
 
     "Regional Music of China Series: Tuneful Music of South China" is presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. The performance will be staged at 8pm on June 19 (Saturday) at the Theatre of Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre. Tickets priced at $240 are now available at URBTIX (www.urbtix.hk).
