Twenty-five building plans approved in November

     The Buildings Department approved 25 building plans in November, with five on Hong Kong Island, seven in Kowloon and 13 in the New Territories.

     Of the approved plans, 13 were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, nine were for commercial developments, two were for factory and industrial developments, and one was for community services developments.

     In the same month, consent was given for works to start on 11 building projects which, when completed, will provide 55 136 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use involving 1 062 units, and 61 099 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of works for four building projects.

     The department also issued 16 occupation permits, with two on Hong Kong Island, nine in Kowloon and five in the New Territories.

     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 184 421 sq m involving 2 617 units, and 47 190 sq m was for non-domestic use.

     The declared cost of new buildings completed in November totalled about $6 billion.

     In addition, five demolition consents involving five building structures were issued.

     The department received 2 617 reports about unauthorised building works (UBWs) in November and issued 1 255 removal orders on UBWs.
