Transcript of remarks of press conference on anti-epidemic measures (with photo/video)
The Chief Executive, Mrs Carrie Lam, held a press conference on anti-epidemic measures this morning (April 4). Following is the transcript of remarks of the press conference:
Reporter: So what made you not decide to run for the election? How do Beijing and you, yourself, evaluate your performance so far? And how do you think about, you know, John Lee running for being the next CE (Chief Executive)? Thank you.
Chief Executive: This is not a question of evaluating my performance or the performance of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in this term. This is a question of my personal wish and aspiration, and my personal wish and aspiration is entirely based on my family consideration. This is what I have told the Central People's Government and they have expressed understanding. I am taking this earliest opportunity to inform the public through the media that I will not contest in the coming Chief Executive Election. I cannot comment on any prospective candidate in the coming Chief Executive Election. Thank you.
