Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, Miss Alice Mak, at a media session after attending a radio programme today (July 16):
Reporter: Could you tell us a bit more about the review of District Council? What aspects are being reviewed and do you have a rough timetable? What are the progress right now?
Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs: This is an imminent work we have to finish as soon as possible. I know that many stakeholders in the district are very concerned about the development of the District Council, but the review of the District Council or district administration will be (done) according to the Article 97 and 98 in the Basic Law. Any development or review will have to be observed. We have to observe the Laws of Hong Kong and the Basic Law.
