Tenders invited for Flyover from Kwai Tsing Interchange upramp to Kwai Chung Road

     The Highways Department (HyD) today (January 22) invited tenders for the Flyover from Kwai Tsing Interchange upramp to Kwai Chung Road (Contract No. HY/2020/08).
      
     The works are scheduled to commence in July and will take about 44 months to complete. The works mainly include:
 
(i) construction of an approximately 370-meter long single-lane vehicular bridge between the southbound fast lane of Tsuen Wan Road (near Kwai Tsing Interchange upramp) and Kwai Chung Road;

(ii) widening of an approximately 85m long section of the southbound traffic lane of Tsuen Wan Road between Kwai Tsing Interchange upramp and Kwai Chung Road;

(iii) construction of noise barriers at the vehicular bridge as stated in (i) above;

(iv) demolition and reprovisioning of the existing Footbridge (No. NF303), and provisioning of lifts;

(v) relocation of the bus stop next to Footbridge (No. NF303) and associated footpath modification works;

(vi) reconstruction of sections of Kwai Chung Road and Container Port Road South; and

(vii) ancillary works including public lighting, drainage, landscaping and environmental mitigation measures. 

     The HyD has appointed WSP (Asia) Limited as the consultant to design and supervise the construction works. Interested contractors can obtain the tender forms and other particulars from WSP (Asia) Limited at 7/F, One Kowloon, 1 Wang Yuen Street, Kowloon Bay, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
      
     The invitation to tender was gazetted today. Submission of tenders will close at noon on March 5 (Friday). Tender submissions should be placed in the Government Secretariat Tender Box located at the lobby of the Public Entrance on the Ground Floor, East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar, Hong Kong.
