The Marine Department (MD) today (March 1) said that the Tuen Mun Marine Office (TMMO) is temporarily closed this afternoon until further notice as a contract staff member received positive results when undergoing COVID-19 rapid antigen tests. For licensing and port formalities services, members of the public can visit the Central Marine Office, the Aberdeen Marine Office or the Sai Kung Marine Office.

The staff member concerned last performed duties at the TMMO on February 28, keeping an appropriate social distance from the public as well as wearing masks and following relevant disease prevention measures while at work.

Upon notification of the case, the MD immediately arranged for all the relevant staff members to undergo COVID-19 testing and thorough cleaning and disinfection of the TMMO.

The MD has been strictly implementing various disease prevention measures during the epidemic and will continue to maintain close liaison with the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health. Staff members are reminded to pay attention to personal hygiene and to stay vigilant. They should seek medical advice immediately if feeling unwell.
