Temporary closure of EMSD public facilities from tomorrow

In view of the latest developments of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) announced today (December 1) that the Registration and Permit Office at its Kowloon Bay headquarters will be temporarily closed tomorrow (December 2) until further notice. During the period, the public can still drop their applications, with cheques for payment, within office hours (on Monday to Friday from 9am to 5.15pm) at the collection box located on the ground floor at the EMSD headquarters, 3 Kai Shing Street, Kowloon Bay. However, the EMSD appeals to the public to minimise visiting its headquarters in person unless necessary, and consider submitting their applications, with cheques for payment, to the above-mentioned address by post. Applicants will be notified of the results by phone or mail.

The EMSD Gallery and the EMSD Education Path at its headquarters will also be closed starting tomorrow until further notice.

Due to the special work arrangements, the public is advised to file requests for service by email. The EMSD apologises for the longer handling time. Members of the public should wear surgical masks at all times during their visit to the EMSD headquarters, and comply with the infection control measures including temperature checks and crowd control arrangements.

The EMSD will closely monitor the situation and review the arrangements in a timely manner.
