The Transport Department (TD) today (September 18) said that, as the recovery work for East Rail Line near Hung Hom Station is still in progress, the MTR East Rail Line between Mong Kok East Station and Hung Hom Station will continue to be suspended. The East Rail Line between Mong Kok East Station and Lo Wu Station maintains at a headway of 3.5 minutes, while that between Tai Po Market Station and Lok Ma Chau Station maintains at a headway of 12 minutes.

It is anticipated that many passengers will be waiting for trains at the interchange stations, especially at Tai Wai, Kowloon Tong, Mong Kok and Admiralty Stations, and that the waiting time will be longer than usual. Passengers are advised to be patient and to follow instructions from MTR staff for boarding.

To cater for the outbound morning peak passenger demand and relieve the possible congestion at MTR interchange stations, the TD has coordinated bus operators to strengthen bus services from the New Territories East to urban areas during the morning peak. Passengers can also consider using the shuttle bus service between Tai Wai Station and Diamond Hill Station provided by MTR.

Members of the public are advised to allow more travelling time for their journeys and pay attention to the latest traffic news.
