The Government is aware of the problem of Road Safety which is reflected in number of road accidents

Ports play an important role in promoting trade and economic growth in the country. Indian Ports handle about 90% by volume & 70% of value of the country’s EXIM cargo. In order to meet the growing trade requirements of the country, the capacity of the Ports & the cargo handled by the Ports have increased over the years.

As per data received from Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, the type and quantum of fuel consumed by the shipping industry during the last three years and the current year (April-January) (provisional) is given below:
