Executive Daily Update: Initiatives to deal with Coronavirus (27 May 2020)

Northern Ireland Executive ministers and their officials have over the past 24 hours been involved in a number of initiatives and critical decisions relating to the Coronavirus emergency.

The Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon announced a range of Active Travel initiatives and also discussed restart of some DVA services & enabling social distancing for essential journeys on public transport.




Infrastructure Minister announces extensions for driving licences, resumption of IVA testing and other DVA services

Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon has announced plans to extend expiring driving licences for an additional seven months from the expiry date.




Households to receive rate bills

To help households during COVID-19, the issuing of domestic rate bills was deferred and the Executive agreed to freeze the element of the rate bill which it sets.




Re-Opening of Outdoor Spaces at State Care Monuments

The majority of State Care Monuments will reopen to the public from Thursday, the Communities Minister Deirdre Hargey MLA has announced.
