President of India launches ‘Swachhta hi Seva’ Campaign

The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, launched a nationwide sanitation campaign, ‘Swachhta hi Seva’, at Ishwariganj village in Kanpur today (September 15, 2017).

President launches nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva jan aandolan from Kanpur

The President Shri Ram Nath Kovind today launched the nationwide jan aandolan, Swachhta Hi Seva, from Iswarigunj, a village in Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. With this the whole country swings in to mass Shramdaan for toilet making and cleaning of public places for next two weeks.

The Vice President of India and the Chairman, Rajya Sabha, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has said that the population control, poverty alleviation and environmental protection are the key issues to the development of any country. He was addressing the Delegation of Asian Population and Development Association, consisting of Parliamentarians from 15 countries, four sitting MPs, one former MP and two MLAs from India, who called on him, here today. The Deputy Chairperson of Rajya Sabha, Dr. P.J. Kurien and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
