Guidance: Protected food name: Cornish sardines

This document provides detail on a protected food name product from the UK, Cornish sardines, which has been given Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status.

The EU protected food name scheme covers regional and traditional foods whose authenticity and origin can be guaranteed.

The EU will only give a product the PGI mark if they decide it has a reputation, characteristics or qualities that are a result of the area it’s associated with.




Form: Endangered species: declaration of a gift or loan

Updated: Declaration of receipt of an Annex A specimen by way of gift or unconditional loan (WLRS02) updated.

The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) regulates the import, (re)export, sale or movement of endangered wild animals and plants. These are listed in Annexes A, B, C and D of the EU Regulation 750/2013

This form should be completed by the owner of a specimen to confirm a gift or unconditional loan of a specimen that did not involve a commercial transaction.

Specimen means any living or dead plant or animal, or any parts of it, that is listed in the regulations.

To find the SPZs, from the table of contents on the left hand side, select in this order:

  • designations
  • land-based designations
  • non-statutory
  • source protection zones merged (England) – tick the box

Enter your post code and size the map. You can use the transparency slider bar under the ‘designations’ sub-heading to adjust visibility of place names within the zones.

The leaflet explains the Environment Agency’s national dataset of groundwater SPZ maps. We use them when we respond to development enquiries.
