The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     The spokesperson for Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) made the following appeal today (May 6) regarding a patient who left the hospital without notifying hospital staff:

     A 15-year-old male patient left the Orthopaedic ward without notifying hospital staff at around 11.30pm yesterday (May 5).

     Upon discovering the patient was missing, ward staff immediately reported the incident to security guards for a search in hospital areas and the vicinity, but their efforts were unsuccessful. QEH is very concerned about the incident. The hospital has contacted the patient’s relative and reported the incident to the Police. The hospital will co-operate with the Police for the search.

     The patient is approximately 1.75 metres tall, has a thin body build, brown short hair, and a tattoo on his right leg. He was seen leaving the hospital in patient clothes.

     The hospital appeals to members of the public to contact the QEH Security Department at 3506 8944 or call 999 if they know the whereabouts of the patient. read more

     A spokesman for Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) today (May 6) said that the two-day Global Talent Summit · Hong Kong will be held tomorrow (May 7) in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
 
     The Summit will comprise three parts, including the International Talent Forum tomorrow and the Second Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area High-quality Talent Development Conference on May 8. The Forum and the Conference will be webcast live on the Summit’s website (www.hkengage.gov.hk/GlobalTalentSummit).
 
     In addition, the CareerConnect Expo will be held concurrently on both days. Talent who are interested in coming to Hong Kong or have recently arrived in the city, stakeholders in various sectors who are concerned about talent development, non-local university students and members of the public are welcome to visit the Expo.
 
     At the Expo, human resources agencies and recruitment platforms will offer quality job information of various professions in Hong Kong which are suitable for talent with diverse backgrounds, qualifications and experience. Talent who have recently arrived can also learn about relevant information on job searches, working or starting a business in Hong Kong. In addition, some exhibitors will provide visiting talent and their families with consultation services and settling-in solutions or offers, with a view to helping them move to Hong Kong, adapt smoothly and stay in the city for development.

     The Legislative Council (LegCo) Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will hold a public hearing on “Emergency dental services and elderly dental care support” (Chapter 2) of the Director of Audit’s Report No. 82 tomorrow (May 7) at 9am in Conference Room 1 of the LegCo Complex.

     Eight witnesses have been invited to appear before the above hearing to respond to points raised in the Report and answer questions asked by PAC members.

     â€‹The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) large-scale outdoor art project, “Art@Harbour 2024” has received an overwhelming response since its opening on March 25. The project has attracted over 2 million visitors, achieving the target well ahead of schedule. The exhibitions currently on display are the “teamLab: Continuous” and “Science in Art” exhibition at Tamar Park and the Central and Western District Promenade (Central Section); in Tsim Sha Tsui, there are Alicja Kwade’s sculpture “l’ordre des mondes (Totem)” exhibition by K11 Group (until November), the “Chromaflux” exhibition by Sino Group (until May 8) and “Voyage with Van Gogh” exhibition by the First Initiative Foundation (FIF)(until May 31). To allow more residents and visitors to visit the exhibitions, the exhibition period of “teamLab: Continuous” and “Science in Art” will be extended from June 2 to June 8.

     To allow more people to visit the exhibition, the pre-booking admission arrangement originally required for part of the exhibition (the lawn area in Tamar Park) via the Klook booking website will be scrapped from May 8 (Wednesday) and visitors can visit the exhibition directly during the opening hours (6.30pm to 11pm every night) without prior registration.

     The LCSD has teamed up with teamLab to curate the “teamLab: Continuous” exhibition. The exhibition presents two magnificent large-scale art installations: “Resonating Life which Continues to Stand”, which showcases hundreds of colourful luminous ovoids with continuously changing colours and sound triggered by visitors’ interactions, and “Resonating Trees” which makes the light of dozens of trees in the park spread, changing its colour and resonating sound tones in response to the ovoids. The scale of the exhibition is large and it took a year to complete its preparation work. Hence, the LCSD has produced two short videos in which the Head of Art Promotion Office, Miss Apo Wu, and the founder of teamLab, Mr Toshiyuki Inoko, will share the behind-the-scenes stories of the exhibition respectively.

     There are a total of five projects under the second edition of “Art@Harbour” including two projects jointly organised by the Art Promotion Office and the Science Promotion Unit under the LCSD, namely “teamLab: Continuous”and “Science in Art”. The other three projects in Tsim Sha Tsui are independently orchestrated and financed by project partners K11 Group, Sino Group and the FIF. The project by the FIF is also supported by the Mega Arts and Cultural Events Fund of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau. Featuring the integration of art, science, and technology, the “Art@Harbour 2024” aims to bring the public and tourists a new inspirational and sensory experience at the Victoria harbourfront through outdoor art installations and digital art façades.
