Fraudulent website and internet banking login screen related to Fubon Bank (Hong Kong) Limited

The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority:
 
     The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) wishes to alert members of the public to a press release issued by Fubon Bank (Hong Kong) Limited relating to a fraudulent website and an internet banking login screen, which have been reported to the HKMA. A hyperlink to the press release is available on the HKMA website.

     The HKMA wishes to remind the public that banks will not send SMS or emails with embedded hyperlinks which direct them to the banks’ websites to carry out transactions. They will not ask customers for sensitive personal information, such as login passwords or one-time password, by phone, email or SMS (including via embedded hyperlinks).

     Anyone who has provided his or her personal information, or who has conducted any financial transactions, through or in response to the website or login screen concerned, should contact the bank using the contact information provided in the press release, and report the matter to the Police by contacting the Crime Wing Information Centre of the Hong Kong Police Force at 2860 5012. read more

LD to hold Youth Recruitment Day@Youth Employment and Training Programme

     The Labour Department (LD) will hold the Youth Recruitment Day@Youth Employment and Training Programme on May 14 for young people aged 15 to 24 with educational attainment at a sub-degree level or below.  
 
     The recruitment event will be held at MacPherson Stadium. A total of 33 organisations from various industries including transport, airline services, hotels, theme parks, public services, retail, catering and property management will join the recruitment event, providing over 2 000 full-time and part-time on-the-job training vacancies for young job seekers.
 
     The job vacancies cover a wide variety of positions such as operations trainee, aircraft maintenance mechanic trainee, barista, tea bartender, customer service officer, ride and attractions host, technician, assistant clubhouse officer, etc. Most of the full-time vacancies offer monthly salaries from $12,000 to $20,000 and do not require relevant work experience from applicants. Job seekers aged 15 to 24 with education attainment at a sub-degree level or below are welcome to submit applications on the spot. They may be invited for on-site interviews.
 
     The LD will set up booths introducing the Youth Employment and Training Programme (YETP), including its workplace attachment, special employment projects, on-the-job training vacancies of the LD, etc. Eligible applicants can join the YETP on-site. Various service providers will assist them to select and enrol in suitable training courses. They will also provide career consultation and offer advice on resume preparation for job seekers.

     The recruitment event also features career talks on the prospects and characteristics of different industries. Guest speakers Hins Cheung, Phil Lam, Yumi Chung and Dark Wong will join the event and share their stories of pursuing their own career development to encourage young people to pursue their career goals with perseverance and determination. The session will be conducted in Cantonese. Priority admission will be given to the YETP’s service targets due to limited seats.
 
     The recruitment event will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at MacPherson Stadium, 38 Nelson Street, Mong Kok (near Mong Kok MTR Station Exit E2). Admission is free. Last admission time is 5pm. For details, please visit the YETP’s website at www.yes.labour.gov.hk. read more
