Liquor Licensing Board to meet on Tuesday

     The Liquor Licensing Board will meet on Tuesday (June 4) to consider two applications for renewal of liquor licences.

     The board will also consider revocation of the liquor licence of No. 13 in Tai Hang.

     The meeting will be held at 9.45am in the conference room, Room 102, 1/F, 258 Queen's Road East, Wan Chai. Members of the public are welcome to attend.




Red flag hoisted at Pui O Beach

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (June 2) that due to big waves, the red flag has been hoisted at Pui O Beach in Islands District. Beachgoers are advised not to swim at the beach.




28th round of computer ballot registration for submitting applications for Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles to be open June 3 to 6

     The Transport Department today (June 2) reminded members of the public that the 28th round of computer ballot registration for submitting applications for Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles (the scheme) will be open from 10am tomorrow (June 3) to 11.59pm on June 6, and the ballot result will be announced on June 7.

     Eligible applicants for the scheme can register for computer balloting through the designated website (www.hzmbqfs.gov.hk). Successful balloting applicants are required to submit applications for the scheme within the designated date and time randomly allocated by the computer system.




Protecting HK’s water quality

     With limited natural water resources in Hong Kong, the Water Supplies Department (WSD) has adopted various measures to secure a sufficient water supply and maintain a high standard of quality to meet the city's growing water needs.
      
     News.gov.hk spoke to the WSD's representatives to learn more about the department's work on managing water storage, monitoring the precious resource and implementing the water conservation strategy.

Fatal traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei last night (June 1) in which a man died.

     At around 23.32pm, the 69-year-old man was driving a private car along Waterloo Road westbound. Upon approaching Yau Ma Tei Fire Station, he reportedly lost control of his car and rammed into the fire station.

     Sustaining serious leg injuries, the man was rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 0.24am today (June 2).

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
