     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (November 5) that due to big waves, the red flag has been hoisted at Big Wave Bay Beach in Southern District, Hong Kong Island. Beachgoers are advised not to swim at the beach.

13th round of computer ballot registration for submitting applications for Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles to open November 6 to 9

     The Transport Department today (November 5) reminded members of the public that the 13th round of computer ballot registration for submitting applications for Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles (the scheme) will be open from 10am tomorrow (November 6) to 11.59pm on November 9, and the ballot result will be announced on November 10.

     Eligible applicants for the scheme can register for computer balloting through the designated website (www.hzmbqfs.gov.hk). Successful balloting applicants are required to submit applications for the scheme within the designated date and time randomly allocated by the computer system.




Project helps realise policing dreams

     The Hong Kong Police Force's Project Himalaya helps non-ethnic Chinese youths integrate into the community, including two brothers of Pakistani descent who achieved their dream of becoming police officers after joining the project.
      
     News.gov.hk spoke to Police Yuen Long District School Liaison Officer Wong Man-keung about how ethnic minorities can benefit from joining Project Himalaya, while two sibling police constables shared how the project helped give them a competitive edge.
