Fatal traffic accident in Pat Heung

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Pat Heung this morning (December 10) in which a 60-year-old man died.

     At 11.30am, a bus driven by a 53-year-old man was travelling along Route Twisk towards Kam Tin, while a motorcycle driven by the 60-year-old man was travelling along Route Twisk towards Tsuen Wan. When approaching near a pavilion, the motorcycle reportedly lost control and rammed into the bus.

     The motorcycle driver was trapped under the bus and rescued by firemen. Sustaining serious head and multiple body injuries, the man was rushed to Yan Chai Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 12.24pm.

     The bus driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.          

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
               
     Anyone who witnessed the accident or has any information to offer is urged to contact the investigating officers on 3661 3800.



Man charged by Police National Security Department

     The National Security Department of the Hong Kong Police Force (NSD) yesterday (December 9) laid a charge against a 77-year-old man with one count of “attempting to do or making any preparation to do an act or acts with seditious intention”.

     NSD arrested the man in Cheung Sha Wan on December 8 for being suspected of “attempting to do or making any preparation to do an act or acts with seditious intention�, contravening Section 9 and 10 of the Crimes Ordinance (Cap. 200).
 
     The case will be mentioned at the West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts tomorrow morning (December 11).
