Xi calls for profound understanding of Marxism

Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, has called for a profound understanding of Marxism and vigorous promotion of the sinicization of Marxism.

Xi made the remarks Friday afternoon at a group study session attended by members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.




All delegates to 19th CPC national congress elected

A total of 2,287 delegates were elected to attend the upcoming 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), according to an official statement Friday.

The 19th CPC National Congress will be held in Beijing, starting Oct. 18.

Sun Zhengcai expelled from CPC, public office

The former secretary of Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Sun Zhengcai has been expelled from the Party and dismissed from public office for “serious discipline violations.”

A meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee on Friday reviewed and approved a report on Sun’s investigation and made the decision.

Media center for 19th CPC national congress to open on Oct. 11

A media center for the upcoming 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) will open on Oct. 11 for both domestic and overseas press.

The media center, based in the Beijing Media Center Hotel, will handle credentials for foreign journalists and correspondents from the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions, as well as Taiwan.

The center will also handle interview applications, organize press conferences, arrange coverage for other activities related to the congress, and provide necessary information and technical services for reporters.

During the congress, an official website and a WeChat account for the media center will also be available.

The 19th CPC National Congress is expected to start on Oct. 18 in Beijing.
