     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (June 3) that due to big waves, red flag has been hoisted at Stanley Main Beach in Southern District, Hong Kong Island. Beach-goers are advised not to swim at the beach.

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (June 3) that due to big waves, red flags have been hoisted at Shek O Beach and Big Wave Bay Beach in Southern District, Hong Kong Island; Silverstrand Beach and Clear Water Bay Second Beach in Sai Kung District. Beach-goers are advised not to swim at these beaches.

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (June 3) that due to big waves, red flag has been hoisted at Clear Water Bay First Beach in Sai Kung District.  Beach-goers are advised not to swim at the beach.




Appeal for information on missing man in Lantau North (with photo)

     Police today (June 2) appealed to the public for information on a man who went missing in Lantau North.

     Kong Shek-on, aged 70, went missing after he left his residence in Yat Tung Estate yesterday (June 1). His family made a report to Police on the same day.

     He is about 1.65 metres tall, 50 kilograms in weight and of thin build. He has a long face with yellow complexion and short black and grey hair. He was last seen wearing a blue short-sleeved T-shirt, short light blue jeans, dark coloured shoes and carrying a dark coloured shoulder bag.

     Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the missing man or may have seen him is urged to contact the Regional Missing Person Unit of New Territories South on 3661 1176 or 9689 7445 or email to rmpu-nts-2@police.gov.hk, or any police station.

Cases of Rhinovirus at Siu Lam Hospital

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     ​The spokesperson for Siu Lam Hospital made the following announcement today (June 2):

     Four patients (aged 41 to 54) in a male ward for severe intellectual disability had presented with respiratory symptoms since May 31. Appropriate viral tests had been arranged for the patients and their test results were positive to Rhinovirus. The patients concerned are being treated under isolation with stable condition.

     Admission to the ward has been suspended and restricted visiting has been imposed. Infection control measures have already been stepped up according to established guidelines. All other patients in the ward are under close surveillance.

     The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.
