â€‹The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) strongly condemns the behaviour of a number of spectators who ignored the safety of the public and the players and trespassed on the pitch in violation of regulations at the Tatler XFEST Hong Kong open training session held at the Hong Kong Stadium in the afternoon today (February 3), causing chaos at the venue.

     The organiser solemnly reminds spectators entering the Stadium tomorrow not to trespass on the pitch area and cause nuisance. Anyone who violates the rules will be treated strictly, including immediately expelled from the stadium and the case will be reported to the Police. The behaviours that disregard the safety of the public and the players may also interrupt the game and deprive other fans of their right to watch the game.

     The LCSD appeals to spectators who will visit the Stadium tomorrow to stay in their designated seats to watch the game. The organiser will strengthen security and hold the persons who interfere with the progress of the game responsible.

     Hello everyone! It is absolutely fantastic to see so many football lovers here today at the Stadium. I can see and hear your excitement coming to the Stadium to watch the Open Training of the Inter Miami CF Team.
 
     First of all, on behalf of the Hong Kong Government, may I extend a very warm welcome to the Inter Miami CF Team. Welcome to Hong Kong! I would also like to thank the organiser, Tatler Asia, for bringing this wonderful event to Hong Kong and for supporting our proposal to open this public training to 15 000 Hong Kong youngsters.
 
　　�在，我用廣�話和大家講幾�說話。大家好�國際�阿密CF�隊今次訪港與香港隊比賽，本身是一項矚目的體育盛事，但是今日的公開訓練亦是一項很有��的活動。

     Hong Kong Customs today (February 3) arrested a male director of a wedding services company suspected of engaging in unfair trade practices involving misleading omission in the course of selling wedding services, in contravention of the Trade Descriptions Ordinance (TDO).

     Customs earlier received information from members of the public that when they purchased wedding services, including renting a wedding venue, from a wedding services company, they were told that the venue was accessible by vehicles with parking spaces provided. However, the wedding services company failed to provide material information to consumers that the road connecting to the wedding venue was a Drainage Maintenance Access which was not open to the public, misleading the consumers to procure the wedding services.

     After an in-depth investigation, Customs officers today arrested a 34-year-old male director of the wedding services company.

     An investigation is ongoing and the arrested person has been released on bail pending further investigation.

     Customs reminded traders to comply with the requirements of the TDO and consumers to purchase products from reputable shops.

     Under the TDO, any trader who engages in a commercial practice that omits or hides material information or provides material information in a manner that is unclear, unintelligible, ambiguous or untimely, and as a result causes, or is likely to cause, an average consumer to make a transactional decision commits an offence. The maximum penalty upon conviction is a fine of $500,000 and imprisonment for five years.

     Members of the public may report any suspected violations of the TDO to Customs' 24-hour hotline 2545 6182 or its dedicated crime-reporting email account (crimereport@customs.gov.hk) or online form (eform.cefs.gov.hk/form/ced002/).

     Regarding an earlier announcement on Candida auris carrier cases, the spokesperson for United Christian Hospital (UCH) gave the following update today (February 3):
      
     Following a contact tracing investigation, one more female patient aged 83 in the geriatric ward was identified as a carrier of Candida auris without signs of infection. She is in stable condition and is now being treated in isolation.

     The UCH will continue the contact tracing investigation of close contacts of the patient in accordance with the prevailing guidelines. A series of enhanced infection control measures have already been adopted to prevent the spread of Candida auris:
 
1.  Thorough cleaning and disinfection of the ward concerned;
2.  Enhanced patient and environmental screening procedures; and
3.  Application of stringent contact precautions and enhanced hand hygiene of staff, patients and visitors.
 
     The UCH has reported the case to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for follow up and will continue to closely monitor the situation.

     The Non-executive Chairman of MTR Corporation Limited (MTRC), Dr Rex Auyeung Pak-kuen, inspected the passing-out parade for 27 probationary inspectors and 127 recruit police constables at the Hong Kong Police College today (February 3).
      
     Speaking at the ceremony, Dr Auyeung said that the rule of law and public safety are the cornerstone of the city’s long-term development. Praising the Force as an excellent team, who spare no effort in safeguarding national security, maintaining social order, as well as protecting the public, he pointed out that their professional attitude has made Hong Kong one of the safest and most stable cities in the world.
      
     He said that the MTRC has always been in close collaboration with the Force in different areas, and appreciated for their support in ensuring the public safety of the railway network, and maintaining the order of the stations, thus facilitating the smooth running of the overall operation which benefits the railway passengers.
      
     Dr Auyeung encouraged the graduates that in the face of various challenges and difficulties, they should uphold the Force’s spirit of "Serving Hong Kong with Honour, Duty and Loyalty” regardless of the posts which they would attach to, and support and unite each other. Noting the rising public expectations for quality public services and the work of the Force is closely connected with people’s daily life, he believed that all graduates will serve the society with a professional attitude and care, and continue to communicate with the public to gain their support.
      
     Lastly, he hoped that in times of rapid changes, graduates should equip and improve themselves to achieve excellence at all times, keep pace with the times, and prepare themselves with capabilities and professional knowledge to face up to various challenges in the future.
