RAWFILL: supporting a new circular economy for RAW materials recovered from landFILLs

BGS is a partner on a new project that is seeking to improve our ability to mine old landfill sites to recover useful resources and reclaim valuable land. RAWFILL is funded through the EU Interreg Programme, and will run for three years. The project involves eight partners from across North-West Europe. The role of BGS is to develop new geophysical approaches for characterising landfills.

Community invited to view plans for geothermal energy research opportunity in Clyde Gateway

Two of the UK’s leading scientific agencies have issued an open invitation to come to the Legacy Hub in Dalmarnock on Tuesday 5 September, when plans will be unveiled for an exciting new research development proposed for the Clyde Gateway area in the east end of Glasgow or neighbouring Rutherglen in South Lanarkshire.
