Scientists are on a mission to rescue two million pieces of ‘lost’ weather data gathered more than 100 years ago by intrepid volunteers on Britain’s highest mountain.
This October BGS are giving free access to its BGS Civils web viewer.
BGS is a partner on a new project that is seeking to improve our ability to mine old landfill sites to recover useful resources and reclaim valuable land. RAWFILL is funded through the EU Interreg Programme, and will run for three years. The project involves eight partners from across North-West Europe. The role of BGS is to develop new geophysical approaches for characterising landfills.
