Star-studded jazz concert to celebrate Hong Kong Cultural Centre’s 30th anniversary

     To help mark the 30th anniversary of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre (HKCC), the Leisure and Cultural Services Department will present a jazz concert in November.
 
     Spanning generations and borders, the concert entitled "Jazz Gala – The Legend and Beyond", will be staged at 4pm on November 3 (Sunday) at the Concert Hall of the HKCC, bringing together prominent jazz musicians to jam and recreate various jazz styles. Local musicians from different generations will collaborate with overseas artists to create a borderless soundscape through jazz. Details of the concert are as follows:

European jazz/beat music: Samuel Chan, Bowen Li, Scott Dodd and Alex Woods
4.50pm
Avant-garde: Mo-Men-T (Lui Ngao Yuen, Mike Yip, Vic Tsui), Paul Bebington and Martin Speake
5.40pm
Hard bop: Tjoe Man Cheung, Scott Murphy, Kendrick Scott and Li Xiao Chuan
7.15pm
Modern jazz: Alan Kwan, Fish Huang, Takashi Sugawa, Masaki Hayashi and Dayna Stephens
8.10pm
World music: maRK (Marcus Ho, Ricky Wong, Kenny Lin, Anna Fan) and Magda Giannikou
9.05pm
Modern/post-bop: Teriver Cheung, Nicholas Bouloukos, Matt Penman and Kendrick Scott; special guest – Angelita Li
10pm
Fusion jazz: Eugene Pao, Ted Lo, Nate Wood and Sam Minaie
 
     Various demonstration workshops and jam sessions (conducted in English) will be held from 1pm on November 2 (Saturday) at the seventh floor of the HKCC's Concert Hall Backstage. Admission is free for concert ticket holders by online registration, with limited seats available on a first-come, first-served basis.
