The Food and Health Bureau said today (February 18) that three staff members of the Sham Shui Po District Health Centre tested positive for COVID-19. They are a worker confirmed with COVID-19, an activity supporting staff tested preliminarily positive and an activity supporting staff receiving a positive result upon a rapid test.
The three staff members work in the main centre of the Sham Shui Po District Health Centre on 2/F, Mei Hei House, Shek Kip Mei Estate, Sham Shui Po. They have been wearing masks and following relevant disease prevention measures at work.
The worker confirmed with COVID-19 is responsible for general duties including cleaning. He last performed duties on February 8. The activity supporting staff tested preliminarily positive offers support to other staff in the Centre. She last performed duties on February 16. For the other activity supporting staff, she was tested positive upon a rapid test which was conducted as a safety measure before re-opening of the Centre yesterday (February 17). She left the Centre immediately afterwards.
In this regard, the Sham Shui Po District Health Centre was closed on February 14 and in the morning of February 17 for thorough cleaning and disinfection conducted in accordance with guidelines issued by the Centre for Health Protection. Other staff were arranged to undergo COVID-19 testing.
The District Health Centre re-opened yesterday afternoon after thorough cleaning.
