Special traffic arrangements for Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements in Causeway Bay and Tin Hau to facilitate members of the public visiting the Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair.
 
A. Road closure
 
     Depending on traffic and crowd conditions, the roads listed below may be closed from 8am to 00.01am of the following day on January 23, and daily from 8am to 3am of the following day from January 24 to 27:

– The unnamed road section at the northern entrance of Park Towers car park, except for vehicles accessing Park Towers car park;
– Hing Fat Street between Causeway Road and Lau Li Street, except for franchised buses and green minibuses;
– Lau Li Street between Hing Fat Street and Ngan Mok Street; and
– Part of the traffic lanes of Electric Road between Gordon Road and Yacht Street.

     The road closure area may be extended depending on traffic and crowd conditions. The roads listed below may be closed daily from 4pm to 00.01am of the following day on January 23, and daily from 4pm to 3am of the following day from January 24 to 27:

– Paterson Street;
– Great George Street;
– Sugar Street;
– Cleveland Street;
– Kingston Street;
– Northbound Gloucester Road between Causeway Road and Great George Street;
– Northbound Gloucester Road between Great George Street and Moreton Terrace flyover; and
– Southbound Gloucester Road between Causeway Road and Causeway Bay flyover.

The following roads may be closed daily from 4pm to 3am of the next day from January 24 to 27:

– Northbound Gloucester Road between Great George Street and westbound Gloucester Road;
– Lockhart Road between Percival Street and Cannon Street;
– Jaffe Road between Percival Street and Cannon Street;
– Cannon Street; and
– Southbound Gloucester Road.

B. Pedestrianisation
 
     The roads listed below will be pedestrianised from 4pm to 00.01am of the following day on January 23, and daily from noon to 3am of the following day from January 24 to 27:
 
– Lockhart Road between Cannon Street and East Point Road;
– East Point Road; and
– Great George Street between East Point Road and Paterson Street.

C. Suspension of parking spaces
       
     The metered parking spaces on Lau Li Street between Hing Fat Street and Ngan Mok Street will be suspended from 8am to 00.01am of the following day on January 23, and daily from 8am to 3am of the following day from January 24 to 27.

     Except for motorcycle parking spaces and disabled parking spaces, the following metered parking spaces in Hing Fat Street Public Car Park will be suspended, except for vehicles with permit:

– 43 metered parking spaces (nos. 1625AB to 1657AB) will be suspended from 8am to midnight daily from January 23 to 24, and from 8am to 1am of the following day on January 25; and
– 85 metered parking spaces (nos. 1604AB to 1657AB) will be suspended from 8am to 1am of the following day daily from January 26 to 27.

     All car parks within the above closed road areas may be suspended and vehicles may not be allowed to enter or exit the car parks, until the roads are safe for re-opening.

     All vehicles parked illegally during the implementation of the above special traffic arrangements will be towed away without prior warning, and may be subject to multiple ticketing.  

     Depending on the actual traffic and crowd conditions in the areas, appropriate traffic arrangements and crowd safety management measures will be implemented. Members of the public are advised to use public transport to visit the above areas and exercise tolerance and patience, and to take heed of instructions of the Police on site.
