The Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, Professor Sun Dong, will lead a Hong Kong delegation to Xi'an tomorrow (November 11) for the 18th meeting of the Mainland/Hong Kong Science and Technology Co-operation Committee.
The Mainland/Hong Kong Science and Technology Co-operation Committee is tasked to organise and co-ordinate technological exchange and co-operation between the Mainland and Hong Kong. The upcoming meeting will be co-chaired by Professor Sun and Vice Minister of Science and Technology Ms Lin Xin. During his stay in Xi'an, Professor Sun will call on leaders of Shaanxi Province and Xi'an Municipality, and visit local scientific research platforms.
Members of the Hong Kong delegation include the Permanent Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, Mr Eddie Mak; the Commissioner for Innovation and Technology, Mr Ivan Lee, as well as representatives from universities, innovation and technology parks, and research and development institutes, etc.
Professor Sun will return to Hong Kong in the afternoon on Wednesday (November 13). During his absence, the Under Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, Ms Lillian Cheong, will be the Acting Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry.
