Shek O Road expected to reopen around 9pm today
Some sections of Shek O Road, which were temporarily closed this morning (September 14), will be reopened for light vehicles at about 9pm today after emergency repairs.
"After emergency repairs carried out by the Highways Department and the Civil Engineering and Development Department, one lane of the Shek O Road can be reopened to light vehicles, including red minibuses, at about 9pm today. As some sections of the road are being converted into one-lane-two-way traffic, motorists are advised to pay careful attention to traffic directions at the scene," the Transport Department (TD) said.
The Highways Department will continue with the emergency repair works. After confirming the safety of the road, the TD will endeavour to allow all vehicles, including Citybus route No. 9 (Shau Kei Wan – Shek O) with deployment of single-deck buses to pass through the road section concerned at 6am tomorrow (September 15), so that residents can get in and out of Shek O.
