SHA congratulates Yam Kwok-fan on winning another bronze medal at National Games for Persons with Disabilities
Hong Kong athlete Yam Kwok-fan today (October 27) won a bronze medal in the Women's T36 200m event at the 11th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 8th National Special Olympic Games of the People's Republic of China held in Shaanxi Province. This is her second medal at this Games after winning a bronze medal in the Women's T36 100m event. The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Caspar Tsui, extended his heartfelt congratulations to her.
"Yam Kwok-fan pulled her efforts and displayed great tenacity in the competition. We are thrilled by her outstanding performance. I sincerely congratulate her and the athletics team," Mr Tsui said.
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region sent a delegation with 35 members to participate in the Games, including 23 athletes to compete in three sports events, namely athletics, swimming and table tennis. Hong Kong athletes have performed brilliantly and so far won 15 medals, comprising eight gold, one silver and six bronze medals.
