SED to visit Australia

     â€‹The Secretary for Education, Dr Choi Yuk-lin, will begin her visit to Australia tomorrow (March 3). She will visit Sydney, Perth and Melbourne, and attend the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) 2024 Conference and Exhibition in Perth.
      
     The Secretary-General of the University Grants Committee (UGC), Professor James Tang, will join part of the visit.
      
     The theme of the APAIE this year is "Collaborating for sustainable impact: partnerships across the Asia Pacific". Dr Choi will deliver a keynote speech to promote to overseas partners the advantages of Hong Kong as an international post-secondary education hub. The eight UGC-funded universities will jointly set up the Hong Kong Pavilion and organise various events.
      
     During her trip to Australia, Dr Choi will visit local universities and meet education officials and experts to learn about the development of local tertiary institutions. She will also meet Hong Kong students and representatives of the business community in Australia.
      
     Dr Choi will conclude her visit and return to Hong Kong on March 9. During her absence, the Under Secretary for Education, Mr Sze Chun-fai, will be the Acting Secretary for Education.
