Security guard employed by contractor working at Mei Lam Estate under Housing Department was tested positive for COVID-19

     The Housing Department (HD) yesterday (February 2) afternoon learned that a security guard employed by one of the contractors has been tested positive for COVID-19. She works at Mei Yeung House, Mei Lam Estate, and is now staying in the hospital for treatment.
 
     The security guard works on night shifts at Mei Yeung House of Mei Lam Estate. She last performed duties on January 29.

     She has no recent travel history. She has been wearing a face mask, and has been observing relevant disease prevention measures at work. When performing duties, she has been undergoing temperature checks and her body temperature was normal.

     The Estate Management Office of Mei Lam Estate as well as lift lobby and common areas of Mei Yeung House have been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected in accordance with the guidelines of the Centre for Health Protection (CHP).
 
     The HD will continue to maintain close liaison with the CHP and co-operate with its quarantine work.
