Second batch of subsidies disbursed under Temporary Unemployment Relief Scheme
The second batch of more than 41 000 successful applicants under the Temporary Unemployment Relief Scheme (the Scheme) will receive notifications in turn starting from today (April 19). Among them, about 30 000 applicants have accounts under the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) schemes and about 11 000 applicants do not have an MPF account. If an applicant has successfully received $10,000 under the 2020 Cash Payout Scheme with his/her bank account, the subsidy will be deposited into this preset bank account. It is expected that these successful applicants will receive subsidies in turn starting from April 21.
"We are processing the remaining applications in full swing and will announce the next batch of successful applicants in due course. Also, for applicants who have been assessed to be not eligible under the Scheme, we will start notifying them of the application result from April 25 onwards," a Government spokesman said.
Applicants may log into the dedicated website of the Scheme (www.tur.gov.hk/en/) to check the application status. When processing applications, the Government-appointed agent may require applicants to provide additional information to verify their eligibility if necessary.
