SCST congratulates John Loung on winning first gold medal for Hong Kong, China at Paris Paralympics
The Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr Kevin Yeung, today (September 2) congratulated Hong Kong boccia athlete John Loung on winning a gold medal in the Men's Boccia Individual BC1 event at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. This is the first gold medal won by the Hong Kong, China Delegation at the Paralympic Games this year.
Mr Yeung said, "With perseverance and a strong spirit, John Loung has won the gold medal and demonstrated his sportsmanship. We are all deeply encouraged by his remarkable achievement."
The Hong Kong, China Delegation has so far won three medals, namely one gold, one silver and one bronze, at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. The details are as follows:
