The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Edward Yau, will depart for Sydney, Australia, tomorrow night (March 24) to attend the signing ceremony of the Hong Kong-Australia Free Trade Agreement and Investment Agreement to be held in the morning on March 26.
Mr Yau will deliver a keynote speech on the two agreements at a luncheon seminar hosted by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Sydney, on the same day.
During his stay in Sydney, Mr Yau will have a meeting with Destination NSW to learn about its tourism development strategy. He will also pay a courtesy call on the Chinese Consul General in Sydney.
Mr Yau will return to Hong Kong in the evening on March 26. During his absence, the Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Dr Bernard Chan, will be the Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development.
