The Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Mr Nicholas W Yang, will leave for Wuzhen in Zhejiang Province tomorrow (October 19) for the 6th World Internet Conference.
The 6th World Internet Conference is co-hosted by the Cyberspace Administration of China and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province. The theme of the Conference this year is "Intelligent Interconnection for Openness and Co-operation: Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace". Mr Yang will attend the opening ceremony and plenary session on Sunday (October 20) and speak at the Cross-Strait, Hong Kong and Macao Internet Development Forum.
The Government Chief Information Officer, Mr Victor Lam, will also attend the Conference.
Mr Yang will return to Hong Kong on Sunday night. In his absence, the Under Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Dr David Chung, will act as Secretary for Innovation and Technology.
