The Transport Department (TD) today (August 19) announced that services provided in the TD's Licensing Offices at Admiralty, Cheung Sha Wan, Kwun Tong and Sha Tin as well as the Public Vehicles Unit and the Vehicle Examination Centres will resume within two hours upon the Hong Kong Observatory's announcement of the lowering of the No.8 gale or storm signal.
Members of the public with their vehicle examination scheduled for or after 2pm are required to present their vehicles for examination according to the scheduled appointments. Those who have their vehicle examination appointments scheduled before 2pm should reschedule the appointments after the services of the Vehicle Examination Centres resume.
Applicants who have made an appointment for renewal of a full driving licence/vehicle licence, transfer of vehicle ownership, application for an international driving permit, or retention, transfer or assignment of vehicle registration mark in any timeslot before the lowering of the No.8 gale or storm signal or within two hours after the lowering of the signal may proceed to the Licensing Offices to submit their applications during opening hours (from 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday) on or before August 26 without the need to make another appointment.
