The Joint Office (JO) for investigation of reports on water seepage in buildings set up by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) and the Buildings Department (BD) today (October 15) announced that its Regional Joint Office (New Territories West) came into full operation today to handle reports on water seepage in buildings in the New Territories West districts.
A spokesman for the JO said, "The working team of the JO provides a one-stop service to the public with both the legal authority of the FEHD and the building survey expertise of the BD. To improve the overall efficiency and enhance communication between JO staff of the two departments, the JO has relocated its four district joint offices in Tsuen Wan District, Tuen Mun District, Yuen Long District and Kwai Tsing District to the new office to enable staff of the two departments to work in the same office, strengthening mutual co-operation and communication which can help speed up the processing of cases with a view to providing better services to the public."
The Regional Joint Office (New Territories West), located at 26/F, The Octagon, 6 Sha Tsui Road, Tsuen Wan, New Territories (Tel: 3150 8370), is the third regional joint office of the JO. The Regional Joint Office (Hong Kong) at Yip Kan Street, Wong Chuk Hang, and the Regional Joint Office (Kowloon) at Wang Kwong Road, Kowloon Bay, came into full operation on January 7 and June 29 this year respectively. The fourth regional joint office will be set up in New Territories East later.
