Regional Joint Office (Hong Kong) of Joint Office for Investigation of Water Seepage Cases comes into full operation

     The Joint Office for Investigation of Water Seepage Cases (JO) set up by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) and the Buildings Department (BD) today (January 7) announced that its Regional Joint Office (Hong Kong) came into full operation today to handle reports on water seepage in buildings on Hong Kong Island and Islands District.
 
     A spokesman for the JO said, "The working team of the JO is to provide a one-stop service to the public with both the legal authority of the FEHD and the building survey expertise of the BD. To improve the overall efficiency and enhance communication between JO staff of the two departments, the JO has relocated its district joint offices in Central and Western District, Wan Chai District, Eastern District, Southern District and Islands District to the new Regional Joint Office (Hong Kong) to enable staff of the two departments to work in the same office, strengthening mutual co-operation and communication which can help speed up the processing of cases with a view to providing better services to the public."
 
     The Regional Joint Office (Hong Kong), located at 9/F, 23 Yip Kan Street, Wong Chuk Hang (Telephone: 3691 8479), is the first regional joint office of the JO. It was set up on December 31, 2019, and comes into full operation today upon completion of the transitional arrangements.
 
     The JO has planned to set up four regional joint offices. The remaining three regional joint offices respectively in Kowloon, New Territories East and New Territories West are expected to be set up progressively in the 2020-21 financial year.
