The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Advisory Council on AIDS:
The Hong Kong Advisory Council on AIDS (ACA) today (April 25) released a consultation document, the draft Recommended HIV/AIDS Strategies for Hong Kong (2022-2027), seeking the public's views and comments on the next set of HIV/AIDS Strategies.
Since 1994, the ACA has published six sets of Recommended HIV/AIDS Strategies which served as blueprints for the AIDS response in Hong Kong.
The ACA is currently working towards the formulation of its next set of HIV/AIDS Strategies from 2022 to 2027 by adopting a broad-based, participatory and integrated approach involving stakeholders to allow key parties to play an active role and contribute in the process.
In the early stage of formulating the draft Strategies, an eight-week community stakeholders' consultation was held by the ACA from June to August 2021, including seven sessions of consultation meetings and online collection of stakeholders' opinions. The ACA has now come up with the draft Strategies ready for public consultation which has been uploaded to the ACA website.
Members of the public are encouraged to send their views and comments by post (Secretariat, Hong Kong Advisory Council on AIDS, Third Floor, Wang Tau Hom Jockey Club Clinic, 200 Junction Road East, Kowloon), fax (2337 0897) or e-mail (aca@dh.gov.hk) on or before May 20.
For more information on previous and current Recommended HIV/AIDS Strategies, the public may visit the ACA website. For information about the local situation and statistics on HIV/AIDS, please visit the website of the Virtual AIDS Office.
