Public hospitals daily update on COVID-19 cases and United Christian Hospital patient passes away

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

      As at 9am today (September 13), four COVID-19 confirmed patients (case numbers: 12067, 12119, 12121 and 12122) were discharged from hospital in the last 24 hours. So far, a total of 11 850 patients with confirmed or probable infection have been discharged.
 
     At present, there are 568 negative pressure rooms in public hospitals with 1 053 negative pressure beds activated. A total of 47 confirmed patients are currently hospitalised in seven public hospitals and the North Lantau Hospital Hong Kong Infection Control Centre. All of them are in stable condition.
 
     In addition, a 67-year-old male patient (case number: 4833) was admitted to United Christian Hospital on September 1, 2020, due to COVID-19. He was released from isolation order by the Department of Health later, but continued to be hospitalised for treatment. His condition continued to deteriorate and he eventually succumbed at 6.22pm yesterday (September 12). Including this patient, 205 COVID-19 confirmed patients have passed away in public hospitals so far.
 
     The Hospital Authority will maintain close contact with the Centre for Health Protection to monitor the latest developments and to inform the public and healthcare workers on the latest information in a timely manner.
